The short version: Vancouver Parks collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party services. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted to the developer.
If you grant location access (While Using the App), your location is used on your device only — to show distances to parks, sort the parks list by proximity, and centre the map near you. Your location never leaves your device and is never sent to the developer or anyone else. The app works without location access; you can grant or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.
Your favourite parks and app preferences are stored only on your device.
Park information is bundled with the app and comes from the City of Vancouver's Open Data portal. The app does not fetch it over the network. Maps are provided by Apple Maps (MapKit), which may communicate with Apple to load map imagery; that traffic is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not visible to the developer.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
